I am reviewing the 1000 greatest movies ever filmed, according to the annually updated list created by the website They Shoot Pictures. I am watching the films in the order they were initially released in order to get some idea of where they fit into the history of film. This page will be updated with links to each of the movies reviewed in chronological order by initial release date. This page your one-stop location for all the reviews in order.
For these reviews, the star rating system is obviously slightly modified, since these movies are all (supposedly) absolute classics of film. A one-star review is more akin to something that isn’t worth the time except for the hardcore cinema buff, while a four-star review indicates a film that stands out even from the classic ranks of these other movies, a transcendent experience that epitomizes what film can be.
